Happy New Year

Hey y'all, welcome to another Teaching Tuesday Thread!

Now [remember] this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to others] will also reap generously [and be blessed].

Here’s my point. A stingy sower will reap a meager harvest, but the one who sows from a generous spirit will reap an abundant harvest.

Remember: A stingy planter gets a stingy crop; a lavish planter gets a lavish crop. I want each of you to take plenty of time to think it over, and make up your own mind what you will give. That will protect you against sob stories and arm-twisting. God loves it when the giver delights in the giving.

I think these scriptures are a great reminder of a great way to start, not just a new year, but a new decade! I think that all too often when we hear the word, "give", we automatically think about money. That's not necessarily what these scriptures are meaning. Of course giving money is always good but it's good to give in other ways too. You can go through your home and find things that you could give to other people. You could also donate some food, or bake up some goodies to share with your neighbors. You can also plant sowing seeds by sharing your time, such as volunteering somewhere, or even with your attitude. Sharing happy smiles can sure go a long way.

I hope this encourages you to start planting your sowing seeds of blessings! Much love and may peace be with y'all!
